Project 3: Mobile
Video conferencing
Goal:
To develop the test bed for
mobile videoconferencing and test the characteristic and feasibility of
videoconferencing in wireless LAN and WAN environment as prevailing
today. Our main focus is to establish a direct video connection between
ED and Paramedic in field that will facilitate the decision making
process at both ends.
Methods:
- Establish an isolated wired
LAN -based test bed
- Perform preliminary usability
and feasibility of mobile devices for EMS use
- Create test bed scenarios for
mobile video-conferencing using wLAN
- Establish QoS parameters to
overcome "noisy" wLANs.
- Move to mobile
video-conferencing using wireless IP infrastructure
- Establish an IPv6 test-bed
for wired LAN and wireless LAN
- Determine effect of
encryption on video-conferencing using wireless LAN
- Establish QoS and other
mechanism to overcome overloading of emergency circuits in case of
Disaster of big magnitude
